We are seeking a dedicated and principled Supervising Deputy Sheriff to join the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office in a leadership capacity focused on maintaining public safety and upholding the law across Blaine County. As a Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing personnel, directing field operations, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining high standards of professionalism, accountability, and community service.
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned deputies and units to ensure effective law enforcement operations
Oversee patrol assignments, incident response, and field operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with department policy
Respond to major incidents and assume command responsibilities when required
Review, evaluate, and approve incident reports, citations, and case documentation for accuracy and completeness
Assist in conducting complex investigations and high-priority incidents
Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to deputies to support professional development and performance standards
Coordinate and communicate with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as needed
Ensure proper enforcement of laws while maintaining positive community relations and public trust
Participate in administrative duties, including scheduling, evaluations, and operational planning
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license and completion of a certified law enforcement academy
Prior experience as a Deputy Sheriff or equivalent law enforcement role
Strong physical fitness and ability to pass required physical and psychological evaluations
Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Demonstrated leadership ability and operational experience in law enforcement
Preferred:
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in law enforcement or military service
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal laws and law enforcement procedures
Experience handling high-risk incidents or multi-agency operations
Proficient in law enforcement systems including radios, radar equipment, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD)
Ability to oversee and manage emergency response equipment and vehicles
Experience with case management systems, reporting software, and evidence tracking systems
Ability to review and interpret operational data for decision-making purposes
Strong leadership and decision-making skills under pressure
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams and interact with diverse communities
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
Ability to mentor, train, and develop personnel effectively
Annual salary: $71,281 per year
